I am a private piano teacher in the Pensacola, FL area with a degree in Piano Performance. I completed an internship in musc therapy at the Washingon Lab School in Washington D.C. where I worked primarily with autistic students. Since then I have also worked with hearing-impaired students. I currently continue my work with individuals with Aspergers and other spectrum disorders. including many ADD/ADHD individuals. I have 17 years experience teaching students from ages 4-84. I teach individual lessons here in West Pensacola, along with web-based individual lessons to our military families stationed overseas.
I am a member of the Music Teachers National Association, allowing my students many opportunities to perform, both competitively and just for fun.Currently I am the Student Day chair, a position I have held for 5 years. This program allows for annual evaluations of student progress, ensuring they are moving forward in their education. I am a working musician, employed as primary organist at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Private lessons are offered weekly from August- June.Students study a variety of composers and styles of repertoire, as well as music theory (written & aural). My students have the opportunity to participate annually in local MTNA recitals including a Baroque Festival in the fall, an Ensemble recital in the winter, and both Sonata and Concerto Contests in the Spring. Along with these, I hold three recitals of my own, beginning in October with a recital at Halloween (complete with costumes), another at the winter holidays and finally, a Jazz Brunch in the spring.
